Similarly, this site was designed and most extensively tested with up-to-date displays, most with at least 800 by 600 resolution and thousands of colors (“16-bit” or “High” color). With configurations lower than this level, cosmetic display problems may occur, but should not interfere with the function of the site.

Font Smoothing

Another feature in modern desktop operating systems that may enhance your use of this and all web sites is font smoothing. This technique blurs the edges of text characters on your screen to make your display look more like a printed page. Windows XP and Mac OS X have the best support for font smoothing; other operating systems and older versions of Windows and the Mac OS have weak or non-existent support for it.
